Antique Georgian Bloodstone Birds Fob Gold

This fantastic Georgian era seal was hand carved and hand crafted around 1820, in England. It is engraved with two birds bathing together, which at the time was a common but subtle nod that it was likely meant for romantic correspondence with a paramour! The rich orange-red, six sided carnelian intaglio is set into a beautifully hand engraved fob of 9 karat gold. The fob measures 11.4 x 11.1 mm across the it's face and sits 10.1 mm high and weighs 1.1 grams. This is a small to medium sized fob which would be excellent worn on a watch chain, on a bracelet or as a pendant.
