Let’s talk luxury. You might call it opulent, they might call it grand. Either way you spell it, it’s still the thing of fairy tales. It’s the kind of ring made for glamorous occasions which, as time went on, became a ring for cocktail parties which, as time went on, became a ring you wear on first dates, to meet friends from college, and to don when you just want to feel a little sumptuous. I guess it’s time for a little less talk and a little more wearing.
This antique ring was handcrafted in Europe around 1890. A beautiful rich purple amethyst sits at the center of golden shoulders with a leaf and flower motif on a size 5.75 band. The oval faceted amethyst measures 13.8 x 12.2 x 7.2 mm and weighs approximately 6.42 carats. This ring face measures 17.5 mm north to south, 18.7 mm across, and 9 mm off the finger. The band width narrows to 4.6 mm at the back. It bears the gold purity mark, “750” and bears a maker’s mark. It weighs 7 grams.
Don’t be jaded by the minimalist trends that are currently all the rage. Jazz it up a little, add an amethyst, throw in some gold, and amplify your jewelry routine.
