Antique Murrle Bennett & Co. Arts & Crafts Citrine Silver Ring

I am always on the look out for fabulous Arts & Crafts antique jewelry, I have quite the weakness for it. So, you can imagine my delight when I came across this amazing ring made by the preeminent firm of Murrle Bennett & Company. I come across a Murrle Bennett necklace or brooch on every trip, but in my twenty plus years of shopping, this is the first time I’ve ever found a ring! Excitement at its finest!

This antique silver citrine ring was handcrafted around 1900. It features a beautiful oval faceted citrine at the center of a very Arts & Crafts style silver spade leaf motif. The ring face measures 13 x 12 x 4.3 mm off the finger. It bears the hallmark, “MB&Co”, and the silver fineness mark, “950”. This ring is a size 6.25 and it weighs 2.4 grams.

Murrle, Bennett and Company was an Anglo-German firm started by Ernst Murrle and J.B. Bennett, which produced pieces for retail by the store 'Liberty and Co.', famous London Arts and Crafts dealers. The company was in existence from 1886-1914, this ring was most likely made around 1900.
