This is the kind of jewelry that I personally love to wear. Murrle, Bennett & Co. is one of my favorite designers, their Arts & Crafts style just speaks to my soul. The clean lines, the smooth and bright cabochon turquoise gem, the weighty feel and fantastic details, all speak to the designer in my soul.
The pendant was lovingly handcrafted in sterling silver and set with a cabochon turquoise which measures 15.3 x 12 x 4.2 mm. The pendant was made by the famed Murrle Bennet and Company, an Anglo-German firm started by Ernst Murrle and JB Bennett, which produced pieces for retail by the store 'Liberty and Co.', famous London Arts and Crafts dealers. The company was in existence from 1886-1914, this pendant was most likely made around 1900-1910. It is marked on the back with the Murrle Bennett and Co mark and with a 950 stamp indicating the purity of the silver. The overall size is 40.9 mm from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant and 26.8 mm across, it weighs 6.7 grams.
Pendants like this one get noticed, and garner many a compliment.
