Antique Oak Leaf and Acorn Earrings in Sterling Silver, Victorian

The mighty oak grows from the lowly acorn, reminding us that great things often have humble beginnings. The oak leaf and acorn often show up as motifs in jewelry from the Victorian times, symbolic of life, potential and fecundity.

These wonderful silver earrings feature beautifully detailed oak leaves and acorns, repousséd and set into lovely double frame. These earrings measure 30 mm north to south from the top of the wire and are 17 mm across. Together they weigh 2.8 grams. Hand crafted in the Victorian era, they are unmarked and have been tested for metal content, made circa 1880-1890.
