Hand crafted in about 1890, this locket is unmarked but tests as 9 karat back and front, meaning that it has an internal metal outer frame covered in gold and is gold on the front and the back along with a double frame interior with glass to hold the perfect photo or pressed flower. This beauty is 39.5 mm north to south and 24.8 mm across, it’s 9.5 mm thick, opens easily and closes with a satisfying little snap, it weighs 9.7 grams.
