Antique Rose Cut Diamond Bow Necklace, Gold and Silver

Annina Vogel is chopping up antique jewelry. Brilliant, if you ask me. She turns stick pin heads into bracelets, hangs old brooches from chains, cuts up old chain into rings, bits and bobs into unmatched ear studs. Her case at Liberty of London is always my first stop when I visit the store. Brilliant! After all, bar brooches, stick pins, and even small pins are relics of another age when it comes to style.

This lovely small diamond brooch wasn't turned into a necklace by Annina. Nope, I did this one myself. This fantastic bow is set with 42 rose cut diamonds. Backed in 18 karat gold and set into silver, these lively diamonds sparkle and shimmer in any light. The chain is 16.25 inches long, it's an old one. The clasp is 9k gold. The drop measures 24 mm north to south and 26.6 mm wide and the necklace weighs 3.7 grams. The bow is English in origin, I suspect, it was made around 1850. It's unmarked so I've carefully acid tested it to verify the content.
