It had been below zero for days, and she was constantly getting up to feed the wood stove, trying to keep up with the frigid temperatures outside. She couldn’t help but notice the big grin that he wore on his face as he brought in bucket after bucket of firewood after he arrived home from work. Finally she could’t help herself and just had to ask what that big smile was all about.
“Well,” he said, “I brought you some flowers”.
She squinted at him, wondering what she missing, but he opened his hand and presented her with a beautiful silver locket decorated with flowers so sunny, she remembered the feel of a summers day.
This hand crafted antique locket is so lovely. The front and back are both decorated with richly repoussed daisy flowers which seem to pop right off the locket. It’s a round beauty measuring 34 mm north to south including the bale and 24.5 mm across, it opens at the top and contains two frames to hold photos or mementos. This locket is marked with ‘800’ for 800 silver and a mask mark. It weighs 4.5 grams. Made in Europe in about 1890-1900.
