Antique Ruby Diamond Ring 7 Stone Hallmarked 1904

It held a fire like she had in her eyes and a passion like she had in her heart. Between the iconic usage of diamonds and gold, with a bold move in the placement of rubies, he had a feeling that this ring almost lived up to her. It had substance. It had grace. It wasn’t timid, and neither was she.

This antique Edwardian ruby and diamond gold ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England, in 1904. There are three deep pink rubies patterned around 4 winking Old European cut diamonds on a sideways marquis shaped face. The center ruby measures 3.6 mm in diameter and 2.4 mm in depth and weighs approximately .22 mm. This ring is a size 8.25 and weighs 2.8 grams. It has been fully hallmarked and bears the crown for England, the anchor for Birmingham, the gold purity mark, “18”, and the letter date, “k”. It also has the insurance number, “884” engraved inside the band. The ring face measures 7.3 x 15 x 3.5 mm off the finger with a band width of 2.8 mm.

Engagement rings from the turn of the last century are a thing of beauty, and wonderment. This ring won’t be here for long!
