Antique Silver Victorian Bangle with Birds & Butterflies, Inscribed 1881

This bangle is sweet in every possible way. Truly, it’s confection! While delicate in size, the appealing beaded metal still catches the eye from across a room. The imagery depicted echoes the artistic movement of its time - flourishing nature, birds, budding trees and butterflies. With an overlay of soft, warm hues, it sings of spring. And the fondant on this petit four? It’s inscribed. On the smooth exterior surface at the pulse of the wrist engraved, “AH to TH April 1881”. Like I said, it can get no sweeter.

This antique Victorian silver bangle was handcrafted during the height of the Aesthetic Movement around 1880. The fluid birds and butterflies are accented in pink and yellow gold overlays. This delectable bracelet is 22 mm wide and weighs 24.2 grams. A tasty piece oval in shape that will hug a wrist up to 7 inches. It bears no marks, save for the inscription, and has been acid tested.
