Antique Turquoise and Diamond Cluster Ring in 18k Gold and Platinum, French Import

This ring will go beautifully with everything you own, or will ever own. It will go particularly well with Dior's Zémire, Weitzman's 'Retro Rose' pumps, a glass of '95 Dom Rosé and a Bentley Continental Coupé (my suggestion would be a '57 in Brewster Green, understated but oh, so glamorous). Or maybe you just want to wear it to lunch with rhinestone flip flops and boyfriend jeans. See what I mean? Everything.

Hand crafted with precise detail, this ring was hand crafted between 1912 and 1926, probably around 1915. It has a two marks on the back of the band, one is the owl mark with a ’75’ stamp which indicates that it was imported into France and has a minimum fineness of 18 karat gold, the other mark is the French mask mark in an oval frame used to indicated platinum. This center of this stunning beauty features a cabochon cut Persian turquoise which has been cut to be almost completely blue with just a tiny bit of matrix showing, it’s a fabulously rich turquoise color, it measures 10.8 x 7.2 x 4.4 mm and weighs approximately 2.5 carats. The center stone is surrounded by a halo of ten diamonds that weigh approximately .31 carats each for a total diamond weight of 3.1 carats, the diamond measure on average 4.2 mm across and 3 mm deep. The diamonds are approximately SI1-VS1 in clarity and G/H in color. While this ring appears to be in mostly white metal, I actually think that it’s either a very early use of 18 karat white gold or that it’s been plated in white. We’ve acid tested it and the ring is 18 karat except for the setting which is done in platinum. The face of this ring measures 22.9 mm north to south and 18.4 mm across, it sits 7.4 mm off the finger at the top of the turquoise, it narrows to 1.6 mm wide at the back of the band. This ring is a size 5.5 US but could be re-sized upon request.

A ring with understated star quality, just like you.
