Somehow I always see turquoise and gold as a jewelry neutral. I won’t go anywhere without this pop of color in my travel jewelry box. A little black dress, a tank top and denim skirt. White jeans and… well, you get the idea. This classic combination is so flattering, and is the kind of accessory that is sure to get you noticed. Don’t forget to pack that perfect turquoise-blue scarf. Outfit? Done.
Hand crafted in England around 1900, this pendant has the whiplash motif that is iconic of the Art Nouveau movement, but the shape and the central bar down the center speak more to Arts & Crafts design. It’s not unusual, especially in English jewelry, to see these two styles intermingle on the same piece, and it’s something I always find so appealing! This pendant is crafted in 9 karat gold and is marked to this effect with ‘9ct’. The top round cabochon measures 9.5 mm across and the bottom cabochon drop has an egg shape and measures 9.4 mm top to bottom and 5 mm across. Overall this pendant measures 49.2 mm from top to bottom and 17.7 mm across and is 5.9 mm deep. It weighs 4.5 grams.
The warm sunny tones of gold, in this case kissed with sunset pink, are the perfect backdrop to the bright, sea and sky blue of turquoise gems!
