Antique Victorian 15k Gold Anchor Brooch in Box

The anchor; a tool born of necessity, a symbol of hope, a shape that invokes all things nautical.

This fantastic anchor brooch was hand crafted in England in about 1900. It is a beautifully detailed example executed in 15 karat gold with small platinum accents. Done with a soft, bloomed finish that gives it a matte look this detailed piece has loads of charm. It comes in what is possible it’s original fitted box, a blue velvet number with a gold marking the retailer of ‘Walter Freeman Goldsmith & Jeweler, 174 Queen Street, Portsea’. The brooch measures 34 mm from top to bottom and 22.5 mm across and weighs 3.2 grams. This brooch is marked on the stem with ’15 ct’ and a little makers mark.

Charming, hopeful and exquisite.
