I didn’t used to like The Metro. It smelled weird and there was always someone trying to sell me something. Then one weekend I was running late for a luncheon with my supplier and with another fête in town a taxi wouldn’t cut it. I didn’t have a choice. I had to brave the strange and unfamiliar. Everything was going smoothly until the lights went out and the subway car stopped moving. To be honest, I hardly noticed since I was seated next to a sweet scented man with sandy blonde waves and eyes as mesmerizing as the sea. I was thankful to be wearing my favorite piece of sterling. It has a tendency to give me confidence in my beauty, wit in my speech, and a spark in my eye.

Sometimes, I wonder if silver was made from moonlight hitting the sand, like how lightning creates cones of glass. It’s mysterious in the way it glints and gleams, even in mere candlelight. I’ve only witnessed nature glow with this much magic a few times; like last summer, on the lake, when the leaves of the trees seemed to light up, but in truth it was green glow of fireflies, dancing in the heat.
This antique Victorian silver love knot brooch was handcrafted in England around 1880. It bears an engraved floral motif and contains a safety chain. This brooch pin measures 46 x 59 x 28.8 mm and weighs 18 grams. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.
