Antique Victorian Bangle Sterling Silver in Box

She pulled on a white blouse, it had been crisply iron by the staff, patiently heating cast irons on a wood stove. She placed a silver bangle around each sleeve, at the slit and folded the cuffs back over, leaving a perfect opening over the top of the silver cuffs, this was her favorite one, it had flowers so fluffy that they looked real and accents of rose and yellow gold. It had been a Christmas gift from her Mother and she cherished it.

This prime example of a Victorian sterling silver cuff bracelet, or bangle, has flowers so deeply repoussed on the front they appear three dimensional. The flowers are done in silver, rose gold and yellow gold accents and the bangle is edge in rose gold. This one is 25.2 mm wide and 65.2 mm across the front, it is 6.4 mm deep. The bangle has English hallmarks indicating that it was hand crafted in Birmingham, England in 1883 and has a makers mark that is maybe ‘H.R.’? This wonderful bangle would fit a wrist of up to 7.25 inches and weighs 32.6 grams.

This bangle comes in an old fitted bangle box, it could even be original to the piece, however the latch is broken, I could ask my jeweler if there’s a fix for it, otherwise you have to use a nail to press it open.
