Antique Victorian Cabochon Garnet Ring in 9k Gold

She sat with her head in a book, next to the fireplace in a city cafe. Snowflakes whirled outside the window, making the gray sky twinkle like glitter. She was in a comfy chair with soft velvet fabric, enraptured in the words she read. Walking down the street he stopped and saw her through the window, subconsciously twirling her hair as she read, he noticed her gold garnet ring reflect the flicker of the fire as she turned the page. She was like a snow globe, perfect, magical and marvelous.

This antique Victorian gold garnet ring was handcrafted around 1850 in England. It features an oval cabochon cut garnet, measuring 14 x 12.8 mm, set in 9 karat gold. The stone is closed backed and so we couldn't get an exact weight, but certainly it's at least 12 carats. The shoulders are covered in ornate detail giving this ring a wonderfully royal feel. The face measures 17 x 21.6 x 6 mm off the finger. This ring is a lovely size 6.5 and weighs in at 4.8 grams. It has been professionally acid tested. The garnet shows some slight abrasions commensurate with age and wear, I forgave it as it’s quite a beauty, but please do check out the photos carefully to make sure that you agree.

For a ring with the power to delight and fascinate, this is it!
