Antique Victorian Five Stone Diamond Ring, Hallmarked London 1891

It’s in the side-long glances and the treasured half-smiles. It’s in the rush of the butterflies and the loaning of a winter jacket. It’s in the air and it’s on her finger. It’s beauty. It’s classy. It’s love.

This antique Victorian diamond gold ring was handcrafted in London, 1891. It boasts five sparkling white cushion cut diamonds, set in a gradient, with the largest in the center.  This lovely ring is fully hallmarked. It contains the letter year code, ‘Q’, which means 1891. The crown indicates English origin, and the leopard head hallmark means the London Assay Office. The gold purity hallmark, meaning 18 karat gold, reads, ‘18’. The maker’s mark reads, ‘CS’ and ‘FS’. It measures 5mm north to south, 14.5 mm across and sits 3.55 mm off the finger. This ring is a perfect size 7 and weighs 2.7 grams.

Sometimes, especially when faced with glittering precious stones, one simply has to admit that the adage of, ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend,’ really is true!
