Antique Victorian Gentleman's Buckle Ring with Diamonds, Hallmarked 1907

The buckle was quite a common motif in Victorian jewelry, much like the snake, the eternal nature of the buckle, the fact that it threads back unto itself creating an eternal loop, made it an excellent representation of unending love, fidelity, and strength. This lovely robust version of the classic Victorian buckle ring set with two sparkling diamonds would make a terrific wedding band.

Handcrafted in 18 karat gold, this ring was made in Chester, England, in 1907 and is hallmarked with the maker's mark 'JG' and the hallmarks for gold content and the city and date of manufacture. It is a lovely and substantial ring, weighing 8.6 grams. The ring is graver set with two old European cut diamonds. The ring is currently a size 9.5 but could be fairly easily sized up or down.
