Antique Victorian 'Mizpah' Band Ring in 9k Gold

The term 'Mizpah' is found in Genesis 31:49, it means 'watchtower' and is used as a blessing, meaning "May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other". You just know that those sentimental Victorians had to use this romantic and wonderful phrase in their art and jewelry! This ring would likely have been considered a 'sweetheart ring' and would have been given by a gentleman to his lady love interest to show his intention to court her. It would make a wonderful wedding band.

This charming ten sided Mizpah ring is hand crafted in 9 karat gold kissed with a rosy hue. It has lovely hand engraving on each panel and is fully hallmarked as having been made in Birmingham, England in 1900 and is marked ‘9’ and ‘375’ for gold content, it also has the makers mark ‘C.M&S’. It would not be possible to re-size this ring, it is currently a size 6.5 and weighs 3.2 grams. The band is 7.6 mm wide.

I just fell in love with this sentimental sweetheart of a ring!
