Antique Victorian MIZPAH Ring 14k Gold Size 8

$ 650.00

“May God watch over you.” He turned the ring on his finger and read, once again, the word—Mizpah. She’d given him the ring to remind him he was loved, cared for and protected. He was filled again with tenderness. Wherever he was, he felt her love and God’s.

A beautiful gold ring, with a deep message. Mizpah is a Hebrew word that means “watchtower,” and conveys the hope that God watch over and protect those we love. During the Victorian Era, it was extremely popular to give a token inscribed with this term of affection to a loved one, either in platonic friendship or as a romantic gesture. This 14 karat gold ring is quite special because of its gold openwork, allowing your skin to peek through the lettering. It weighs 2.3 grams the band width is 2.7 mm wide. The face of the ring is 5.7 mm by 21 mm, with a depth of 1.7 mm. The gold has been carefully tested as 14k. It is a size 8 US. Unmarked and acid tested, this ring likely dates to about 1900.

We all need to know we are dear to someone, and we could all use God’s watchful eye to protect us. The receiver of this beautiful ring will keep you in their heart till the end of time.
