Antique Victorian Opal and Diamond Ring in 18k Gold, c. 1890

Like a little tiara for your finger, this lovely prong set opal and diamond ring will show off a little with every move you make.

Handcrafted in England towards the end of the Victorian era, this ring features three oval cabochon opals with a wonderful play of fire and light. I'm embarrassed to notice that I've not cleaned this ring quite as well as I had thought (it happens!), it seems that one of the stones was rather dirty when I photographed it (you can actually see this in the photos of the back of the ring), and this is why one of the stones appears a bit dull. I'll try and get this redone but I wanted to list it in the meantime because it's just so lovely, and to be honest, I may not get back to it for quite a while. If I get a request for a new one, I'll be happy to send it along (that ought to light a fire under me!). Between each opal are set three (for a total of 6) rose cut diamonds to give it a little extra sparkle. This ring is marked with the '18k' indicating its 18 karat gold make up, which I have confirmed by giving it a good acid testing. This ring is a size 5.75 and while it could be sized up or down a little bit, it would be more difficult to go up or down by a lot. It weighs 3.5 grams.
