This charming 9k B&F shield locket set with pearls is a wonderful example of Victorian symbolism and would have been given to someone with a promise to protect and provide for them. On the front cover, the artist has depicted a branch of ivy, itself a symbol of everlasting love, reaching toward the viewer. Three bright pearls are set in the basins of three of the ivy leaves. Each pearl measures 2.5 mm in diameter. The back of the locket is blank and would be a perfect place to engrave a name or initials. Inside are two frames for photos, though one frame will need to be fitted with glass or acrylic. This lovely pendant locket was made c. 1880, weighs 3.7 grams, and measures 40 mm high by 21.2 mm wide with a depth of 5.5 mm. It tests as 9k.
