Antique Victorian Silver Baby Brooch Gold Letters

These adorable pins were commonly gifted to new born babies during the Victorian era and early 20th century. They were also given at a baby’s baptism or christening. These pins were used to hold down baby bibs. They were kept as keepsakes, quite like the modern day ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ ornaments we know and love today!

This precious antique Victorian baby brooch pin was handcrafted in Chester, England, in 1899. It’s made in silver and embossed with the word, “BABY”. It’s decorated with rose colored flowers and accented with engraved florals. It is fully marked and contains a lion passant, for English sterling silver, wheat sheaves, for Chester, the letter, ‘Q’, for 1899, and a maker’s mark that reads, ‘W.B’. It measures 14.6 x 43.3 mm and weighs 2.0 grams.

This pin would be beloved little gift for the expecting antique jewelry collector in your life!
