Art Deco Jade Diamond Ring 18k White Gold

The allure and mystery of the Far East were a popular aesthetic during the Victorian Era and widely used in jewelry, especially in engravings. They became equally, if not more, popular during the Art Deco era and while the Aesthetic was different, the fascination was the same.

The remarkable Jade and diamond ring dates back to the roaring 20s, with its clean lines and subtle flash. Six split prongs hold a bright green cabochon of jade which measures 16.2x11.2x3.9 mm and weighs approximately 5.73 carats. The ring is 18 karat white gold and the shoulders are set with 6 early single cut diamonds.

This ring measures 17.3 mm north to south and 12 mm across at the face, it sits 4.5 mm of the hand and narrows to 1.4 mm at the back of the band. The ring was hand crafted around 1925, it is marked ’18ct’ and most likely was made in England, which is where I purchased it. This size 5.5 ring could be resized to suit. It weighs 2.8 grams.
