Art Nouveau Silver Butterscotch Amber Brooch Pin Grann & Laglye

All silver swirls and rich, butterscotch amber, this Art Nouveau beauty was created by the firm of Grann & Laglye in Denmark around 1900 and bears their makers mark. It also has the mark for the Dansk Arbedje, the DA mark with the hammer in between, which stands for the Danish trade association which promoted Danish artistic goods.

This brooch is done in three pieces to give it lots of dynamic movement. The Top bit is 45.1 mm across and the richly colored butterscotch amber at its center measures 10.5 mm across, the small stone is 6 mm across and the bottom is a lovely round of silver. Overall this super stylish pin measures 103 mm from top to bottom and 45.1 mm across and weighs 13.6 grams. It is also marked to the reverse with ‘830 S’ indicating the silver weight of 830.
