Arts and Crafts Faceted Citrine Pendant Necklace

Stones have long been thought to have mystical powers and a necklace like this one is enough to make you believe that it’s so. The citrine, perhaps because of its golden color, has long been associated with riches and wealth, and this one is capped with a silver top of acorns and oak leaves. The acorn has long symbolized potential and fertility. So perhaps it doesn’t have special powers, this fantastic Arts and Crafts pendant, but then again, thousands of years and myth and rumor had to come from somewhere?

This wonderful citrine is faceted on both sides of it’s chubby, teardrop shape. It’s been fitted with a cap of silver depicting acorns and oak leaves and comes on a period sterling silver chain that’s 19 inches long. The pendant is 47 mm long and 22 mm wide and the stone is 13.7 mm thick at the center. This necklace weighs 19.4 grams.

Most likely this Arts and Crafts era beauty was made in England in about 1900, it tests as sterling silver and is stamped ‘sterling’ on the chain.
