A whisper of an era long past, this early Victorian fob carries the quiet grace of a well-loved keepsake, a small treasure meant to seal letters, mark ownership, or simply be admired. The deep, russet glow of the carnelian holds a finely carved intaglio of a kingfisher, poised with a quiet intensity, a symbol of peace, prosperity, and patience.
Handcrafted around 1830, this fob is set in 15k gold, its smooth arching handle curving elegantly above the bezel-set carnelian. Measuring 21.7 mm tall, 14 mm across, and 16.7 mm deep, it weighs 4.9 grams. Though unmarked, it has been tested for 15k gold, its warm patina a testament to nearly two centuries of history.
Worn as a pendant or admired as a collector’s piece, this fob is a perfect blend of utility and beauty, a relic of a time when even the smallest objects were imbued with meaning and craftsmanship.
