Edwardian 18k Gold Sapphire Diamond Ring Hallmarked 1911

This checkered antique ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England in 1911. It’s an Edwardian work of art, featuring a patterned array of six old European cut diamonds and six faceted sapphires. Each of the winking diamonds measures 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.8 mm and weighs approximately .06 carats, for a total of .36 carats. The blue sapphires measure 2.3 mm in diameter and 1.5 mm in depth, with each weighing approximately .06 carats. The ring face measures 7.8 x 11.7 and sits 4 mm off the finger, the ring narrows to 2.4 mm at the back of the band. This ring is a size 5.5 and it weighs 4.0 grams. It bears the crown mark for England, the gold purity mark, “18”, the anchor mark for Birmingham, and the date letter, “m”.

I know, I know, you just wanted sapphires. Honestly though, what are a few extra gemstones, really? Especially when they look like they belong on the runway. For yourself or for a friend, but probably for yourself, this ring will distract you all day long.
