The clean lines, the bright and glowing faceted aquamarine contrasting with a creamy pearl, the whiplash design, all speak to the designer in my soul.

The faint scent of lavender and lemon lingers in the air as she walks by wearing a silhouette of amethysts. They web together on a silver chain with pearls that are feminine and glorious. She’s in a plunging black top made of silk because it’s Tuesday and Tuesdays deserve attention, too. She stops as she hails a taxi, somehow not distracted at all by the masterpiece around her neck.
This antique Arts and Crafts amethyst and natural pearl, silver necklace was handcrafted in England around 1905. There are eight faceted amethysts scattered about this necklace, on a silver chain that weaves and nets like a spider’s web, that includes three natural white pearls. The largest amethyst can be found at the drop, it measures 17 x 10.8 x 8.5 mm. This beautiful piece weighs 13.0 grams. It’s a 17.25 inch necklace with 4.25 inch drop. The chain is silver while the clasp is marked, “9.C” and is 9 karat gold, it has been acid tested.
From blue jeans to ball gowns, a necklace like this will always satisfy. It excels at conversation starting. What is that? Where is it from? Who are you wearing? So go ahead, dress up. Or down.

The collective belief that says all new things are better than old is an old wives’ tale that I’m ready to abolish. Take a break from the usual and enter the antique side of things. I’ll warn you, it’s quite irresistible and rather addicting. Progressing backward in fashion goes against the flow, it defies logic - but darling, I think you’re due for a bit of rebellion.
This antique Art Nouveau moonstone necklace was handcrafted around 1900. It showcases that classic whiplash motif and is set with an oval cabochon moonstone at the center. The stone has a great flash of blue and measures 8 x 5.5 x 3.8 mm. The drop measures 46 mm north to south and 28.4 mm across. This piece bears no marks and has been acid tested. This lovely necklace measures 17 inches in length and it weighs 6.8 grams.
Style is as style does and my goodness this necklace most certainly does. I understand how obvious it sounds, but I don’t mind saying it - this piece is exceptional, and it belongs around your fabulous neck.
