Edwardian Double Snake Gold Ring Wedding Band

It’s right there, in all the books for as long as you can remember, back to those board books that your mom read to you while you frantically tried to chew the corners. You’ve always known it, that S is for Sssssnake. These peacefully entwined serpeants don’t seem to be hissing at the moment, maybe they’re just too wrapped up in each other!?

This wonderful Edwardian snake ring was hand crafted in Chester, England in the year 1903. It is a size 7.25 and made in 9 karat gold. The ring measures 10.5 mm north to south at the front and narrows to 5.2 mm at the back of the band. This ring contains a full set of English hallmarks, the wheat for Chester, the c for the year 1903, the gold purity marks ‘9’ and ‘.375’ and also a makers mark ’S.U’.

I like to wear a snake ring on my thumb, I feel like it gives me that little bit of extra power to get me through my day, but this wonderfully sentimental Edwardian beauty would make a splendid wedding band as well!
