Edwardian Mizpah Wedding Band Ring Hallmarked 1909

This Edwardian Mizpah ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England in 1909. Engraved with three hearts and the romantic phrase, “MIZPAH” across the face. The Mizpah is a romantic sentiment from the bible which means: May the Lord watch between me and thee when we are separated from each other. It was a very popular sentiment in Victorian and Edwardian times.

Hand crafted in 9 karat gold, this ring has been fully hallmarked. It bears the gold purity marks, “9” and “375”, the origin mark for Birmingham, the date letter, “k” for the year 1909, as well as the maker’s mark, “CYBS". The face of this ring measures 7.5 mm north to south and 20.3 mm across, it narrows to 2.5 mm at the back. This wonderfully romantic ring weighs 3.0 grams and is a size 8.5, it could be re-sized to suit.
