Made in England just after the turn of the century, these gorgeous Edwardian opal and diamond earrings were hand crafted around 1910. With posts at the top, slender vine shaped links, each set with an .02 carat old European cut diamond, support a large oval cabochon cut opal. Set in a classic six prong open backed mount, the fiery opals measure 10.2 mm x 6.4 mm x 3.9 mm and 11.7 mm x 3.6 mm x 3.2. They have a total combined weight of approximately 1.74 carats. These earrings bear no marks, but were carefully acid tested for metal content, and they test as 18k gold. The earrings measure 34 mm from top to bottom and 6.8 mm across at the widest point. Together they weigh 2.3 grams. A perfect touch of Edwardian magic added to any outfit, and perfect for every occasion, these are very special pair of earrings indeed!
