“Why is green my favorite? It’s the color of spring! Of trees, and grass, of life, of Mother Earth! The color of my mother’s eyes. The color of all that is new and young and fresh!” —Arius Minor.
Islands of green light, strung together by bright sea pearls. This stunning beaded pearl and peridot necklace is the kind of natural beauty that's undeniable. Thirteen (13) teardrop peridots are faceted to glitter and refract light like the beams of the Aurora Borealis. A string of hundreds of creamy white seed pearls connect the peridots, offering a serene contrast of color and texture. Any woman would feel beautiful with this draped around her neck. This gorgeous necklace was made around 1890. Each peridot measures 6.4 mm across, and is 3.7 mm deep and the necklace itself measures 16” long. It weighs 4.1 grams. The closure is 9k and is stamped with ’375.’ When I purchased this Edwardian beauty the string was in tatters from over 100 years of wear, so I had her restrung to restore her to her former beauty. My stringer is clearly a saint for her patience stringing all of these tiny pearls!
Eye-catching and elegant, this Pearl and Peridot necklace would be beautiful with a green gown, or for that matter, a dress of any color!
