Edwardian Purple White Enamel Silver Watch Chain Necklace

“Like finding a needle in a haystack”, or as my grandmother would have said “Like hens teeth”, which is to say, finding these gorgeous enameled chains, especially in lovely condition as this one is, is not something that happens every day! I was delighted when I came across this beauty.

This wonderful hand crafted chain is done in sterling silver with twenty six (26) enameled links interspersed along its length. The enamel links are square and done in purple translucent enamel tipped with bold white enamel ends. The chain is in marvelous condition with no notable chips to the enameling. A chain like this would have no doubt have originally held a watch, probably in matching enamel. Now it would make a perfectly fabulous necklace or hang a pendant from the jump ring to use it is a chain. This beauty is 24 inches long and weighs 14.1 grams.

This antique late Victorian or early Edwardian chain was made in England (most likely) in about 1900-1910.
