Edwardian Ruby Large Moonstone Gold Pendant

It’s elegance, wrapped in red and tied with a bow. It moves naturally, with the curves of the neck, and the twists of the head. It’s femininity shamelessly parading itself and its beauty. This is what daydreams are made of – yellow gold, red rubies and ethereal moonstones.

This antique Edwardian gold moonstone and ruby pendant was handcrafted in England around 1910. It’s an oval shaped pendant with a halo of rubies framing a moonstone drop topped with a golden bow. This piece was made in 18 karat gold. There are 38 round faceted old-cut rubies that, together, weigh approximately 2.56 carats. The oval moonstone is cabochon cut and measures 19 x 14 x 5.2 mm and weighs approximately 9.9 carats. Overall, this pendant measures 49 x 26.3 mm. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.

It’s graceful and full of whimsy. It’s pretty and also manages to be the very definition of glamorous. I’d say that’s fairly close to perfection, wouldn’t you agree?
