Fabulous Retro 26+ Carat Citrine and Diamond Cocktail Ring, 18k and Platinum c. 1950

I love a good cocktail. I'm kind of a Roman when it comes to them, when in New Orleans it's a Sazerac at the Roosevelt Hotel, when in Key West, give me a Mojito at Captain Tony's, from New York City to P-town, Mass, make mine a Cosmo, and when I'm in Paris... Okay, let's face it, in Paris I drink Champagne, but go ahead, throw a raspberry in it and call it a cocktail! I love a good cocktail ring even more, and this one will go with just about any cocktail in just about any city on Earth!

One stunning, huge and richly colored citrine is at the center of this beauty of a ring. The step cut rectangular citrine weighs over 26 carats and has a rich golden caramel color. The stone measures 21mm long, 16.4 mm wide and 11.8 mm deep. The stone is very clean, even with a 10x power jewelers loupe, there are some minor abrasions to the stone.  It is set on either side with two small modern cut diamonds in platinum mounts. The ring is handcrafted in 18 karat gold and is unmarked. It is a size 7.5 but could be re-sized up or down. The ring weighs 12.1 grams. I bought this one in Paris. It is unmarked but was likely made in Europe around 1950.

A ring from a time when the word 'cocktail' didn't so much refer to a drink as a way of life.
