Fantastic Art Deco Silver and Paste Earrings with Gold Wires

Between the two World Wars, the ideas of glamour and audacity took over the jewelry world, creating one of my favorite eras: Art Deco. With angles, symmetry, and boldness, the exploration and consumption of the Roaring 20s was expressed in the form of beautiful accessories, like these earrings.

These beautifully crafted Art Deco silver earrings were made in England around 1920. They’re a brightly sparkling pair with geometric features consisting of dazzling paste set in silver with 9 karat gold wires. They are linked in multiple spots for fantastic movement on the ear. They bear a faded silver fineness mark that appears to read, “930”, these earrings have been acid tested. Each earring measures 48.8 x 11.5 mm. Together, this pair weighs 5.8 grams.

I admit, this gorgeous pair has taken a long side-trip though my jewelry box. They have such great swing and sparkle that most people will mistake them for the real thing. They are alluring in the light, bringing out every color of the eye, and looking sleek and sophisticated with the perfect amount of edge.
