Five Stone Sapphire Diamond Ring 18K, Birmingham 1911

All the markings are there! This lovely ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England during the Edwardian era, dated 1911. It is 18 karat gold and a size 7.75 US. This classic beauty holds three delightful sapphires that total approximately .34 carats. The center stone measures 4 x 3.4 x 2.5 mm and the smaller two are 2.3 x 2.3 x 1.8 mm. Old European cut diamonds nestle the center stone and weigh close to .04 carats total. This five stone piece weighs 2.8 grams. Overall the ring measures 6.7 mm north to south, 15 mm wide and 4 mm off the finger. The band narrows to 2.7 mm and contains several hallmarks - date letter ‘m’ for 1911, England’s crown, the gold purity mark ’18’, the anchor for Birmingham, and the maker’s mark ‘E&W’. There is also the number ’1247’ to note.
