Georgian 'Be Thou Faithful Unto Death' Steel Pendant Flip Fob

Here is a fob that would have been right at home on the set of Game of Thrones, an early Georgian fob with two seals carved into steel and set as a spinner. One side of the seal is set with a bird, wings out-stretched and a branch in its mouth, the other side shows a sword and crown and the motto around it says “Be Thou Faithful Unto Death”, the coronet has five points, each of which is itself a five pointed star, both sides are exceedingly well carved with beautiful details.

This early seal dates to about 1750 or perhaps a bit earlier, it is fully hand crafted and carved. This fob measures 31.2 mm from north to south and 21 mm across, it’s 2.1 mm deep and weighs 6.3 grams. Most assuredly made in England in the mid-eighteenth century.
