Georgian Chased 18k Gold Split RIng Sz 8.75

$ 990.00

This wonderful Georgian split ring was made in England, c.1820. Originally, it was used as a way of joining the ends of long chains as well as securing watches, fobs, seals and other essential daily tools of the Georgian era for a lady or a gentleman. Heavily engraved with a beautiful floral motif, the split is almost invisible. A marvel of it's age, it still opens perfectly and closes securely. In excellent condition, it weighs 4.1 grams, is a ring size 8.75 (due to it's construction it cannot be sized) and though unmarked, has been tested as 18k gold. A perfect find for any collector of Georgian jewelry, this would also make a wonderful one of a kind wedding band. The ring is 2.7 mm in thickness.
