Jugendstil Art Nouveau Garnet Silver Pendant

She was the subtle type, wearing only one accessory, maybe two, at a time. Her sense of style was understated, delicate, and yet also quite conversational. A charm like this, with a crimson garnet and shining silver was the perfect fit. She was happy in her easy minimalism. She quite enjoyed simplicity at its finest, especially when it garnered compliments as often as this pendant did.

This antique Art Nouveau silver pendant was handcrafted in Germany, in about 1904. It is shaped like a fan and bears a flower motif decorated with a beautiful oval garnet stone, faceted side up. The back of the pendant is inscribed, ‘Conrad v. Schlauch I, Anges v. Schlaugh III, 24. Dez. 04.’ It measures 35.2 x 29.4 mm and weighs 8.6 grams. It is hallmarked with the silver purity mark, ‘800’.

Sometimes, all a silver chain requires is a pretty bauble with a touch of flair, just like this garnet pendant! It’s the perfect amount of pizzazz.
