Jugendstil Silver Repousse Locket Pendant Pillbox

I have to tell you, there’s a piece of me, a not very small piece of me, that just wants to step right into the enticingly charming scene on the front of this wonderful Jugendstil pill box. Designed with a full little town on the front, a bevy of buildings and a bridge over the water below, this locket has a decidedly fairy tale feel.

This round locket, or perhaps pill or patch box, was hand crafted in Europe in about 1890. It has no marks but tests as silver, it’s 32 mm top to bottom including the bale, 26 mm in diameter and weighs 10 grams. Charming. Just charming.
