Mid-Victorian Pearl and Ruby Cluster Ring in 18k Gold, c. 1870

This lovely Mid-Victorian ring is set with six creamy white pearls and four wonderfully contrasting bright red-pink rubies. Handcrafted in 18 karat gold that has been acid tested to verify purity.  It is a size 7.75 and while it could be resized a little bit, it would be tough to resize by a whole lot. The rubies measure 3 mm across and 1.5 mm deep and weigh about .45 carats all together. The pearls are 3.5 mm in diameter. The face of the ring is 11 mm from north to south and 14.2 mm across and it narrows to 2 mm wide at the back of the band. It has some hallmarks that I couldn’t make out, but I’ve included some photos anyway.

This ring was most likely made in England, which is where I purchased it, it was crafted around 1870.
