You’ve been there, done that. It’s time to move on, to something a little more…compelling. Audacious. Dare I say it, irresistible? I have just the locket. It’s addictive. I wore it in Beziers in August to watch the bullfighting. In spring, I found it went well in Cove Bay, while picnicking on the sands. It’s big enough to hold a photo or a secret, but not big enough for a snack.
This stunning antique silver locket was handcrafted in Birmingham, England, in 1882, during the Victorian era. It’s an ornate piece decorated in foliate motifs on both the front and the back. The back also features engraved flowers and a banner. This oval locket measures 60.5 x 38.8 x 12.5 mm and it weighs 11.6 grams. When opened, one frame is revealed, ready for a beautiful photograph of your own. It bears the anchor mark for Birmingham, the date letter, “h”, and the lion passant mark for sterling silver. The maker’s mark reads, “I.W”.
Sensibility lies in the eye of the beholder. I’m sure that’s the phrase. In any case, it’s rather a rock-solid argument for wearing the things you love whenever your heart desires. Trust me, your heart will want this locket strung around your neck and hanging near it every day of the week.
