Back porch sitting is underrated and should be done much more often, preferably during nightfall when the sky looks like this ring. It’s when the sun is glowing gold and sinking into the darkening earth lined with the shadows of faraway trees. The sky is purple with light so thick and bold you could cut it with a knife. It’s when twilight takes over the world and oddly enough, this ring could still find enough light to shimmer.
This antique ring was handcrafted around 1890 of 18 karat gold. At the center is a rich, violet step-cut amethyst set in a long octagonal setting supported by a basket weave motif on the shoulders. The stone measures 9 x 7 x 5 mm and weighs approximately 2.09 carats. The ring face measures 13.6 x 11.5 x 5 mm off the finger and the band width is 2.2 mm at the back. This ring is a size 4.25 and it weighs 3.8 grams. It bears no marks and has been acid tested. Most likely made in America.
Let your finger glow with violet as you wear this darling stunner. I swear you’ll never want to take it off.
