Silver Victorian Golden Jubilee Bangle Bracelet Red Enamel Crown

“Had a large family dinner”, that’s how Queen Victoria described the banquet held for her on June 20th, 1887, to celebrate her Golden Jubilee. Fifty years as Queen warranted a dinner with fifty Royal dignitaries. Kings and Queens and Crowned Princes and Princes came from around the world. The table was laid with the Royal gold ware and must have simply lit up the Supper room at Buckingham Palace.

This wonderful bangle was made to commemorate that wonderful occasion. It was hand crafted in silver and topped with a gilded crown accented with red enamel. The bangle says simply ‘Jubilee’. This Victorian beauty would have been made in 1887 to celebrate this occasion of 50 years of Victoria’s reign. It is a rather smallish size and would fit a wrist of up to about 6.25 inches. This bangle measures 20.5 mm north to south at the front and 5.2 at the back, the interior diameter is 2 1/8 inches, it weighs 8.1 grams. this wonderful bangle is unmarked but has been acid tested as sterling silver.
