Stunning High Domed Moonstone and 1.25ctw Diamond Ring, Edwardian Antique in 18k Gold

You should wear this ring at night. In a dress of white under the full moon, your diamonds and moonstones, your dress and your eyes, all reflecting the large and blue glowing summer moon in a dark sky punctured by only the brightest stars. In daylight, indoors, even under the awful glare of fluorescent office lights, the ephemeral blue and silver dances within this highly domed stone, a little bit of the moon to take along through your duller days. The diamonds fill in extremely nicely for the glittering of stars in a night sky. Just looking at it reminds you of moonlit nights, and this reminder changes the way you move; which makes this ring exceedingly lovely, and excessively flattering to your lovely form.

This hand crafted ring is unmarked but has a decidedly English feel. I purchased it at a fair in the North of England. The moonstone is a beautiful luminescent silver blue and measures 11 mm north to south and 6.3 mm across, it is 6.1 mm deep and weighs approximately 3.1 carats. The three diamonds to either side are gorgeous and chunky old European cushion cuts, they are very bright and clean and weigh approximately .2-.25 carats each for a total weight of 1.2-1.5 carats. The face of this ring measures 11.8 mm north to south and 18.7 mm across and it sits 9 mm off the finger, it narrows to 1.9 mm at the back of the band. The ring is a size 7.5 US and could be carefully re-sized somewhat, but it might be tricky to go more than a size or so in either direction. Please let me know if you’re interested in re-sizing and I’ll check with my jeweler to see if it will work for your size. This ring weighs 7.1 grams.

The height of this smooth cabochon moonstone gives it an incredible array of refractive colors and light and the old cut diamonds are the perfect supporting cast, it’s simply stunning. This luxurious ring was made in England around 1905 at the beginning of the Edwardian era, it has the architecture of a late Victorian ring and the moonstone and diamond combination and lightness of look that would come to characterize the Edwardian era.
