Unusual Antique Open Link Gold Watch Chain

There’s something to be said about gold. When I was a young woman it was all silver and white metals for me, but the more gold that I held and felt and wore, the more I started to understand it, the glow of it, the warmth of it, the weightiness and substance of it. Yup, something to be said about gold.

This unusual watch chain dates to about 1890 and showcases a larger than usual open curb link. The chain is 17.25 inches long and is hallmarked with ‘9’ and ‘.375’ for 9 karat gold, the T bar is marked with the makers mark of D.B.. This late Victorian chain weighs 51.2 grams. It’s sure to be a staple of your jewelry wardrobe!
