Reserved for Jane ~ Victorian 3 Moonstone Gold Ring 3.3cttw

Over on Instagram they like to have #MoonstoneMondays, but I think that a fabulous Moonstone ring like this one deserves to be worn every day of the week.

Three glowing blue moonstones are the lively stars of this ethereal show. This ring was hand crafted around 1890 of 18 karat gold. It was made in London, England and while it’s marked for the karat weight and the city of assay, it’s missing its year mark, likely due to resizing at some point in its life. The moonstones are cabochon cuts and the center stone measures 9x7.1x3.3 mm and weighs approximately 1.53 carats, the two side stones are about .92 and .87 in weight giving this ring a total weight in moonstone of 3.32 carats. The ring measures 9.8 mm north to south and 17.3 mm across, it sits 5.5 mm off the finger and narrows to 2.4 mm at the back of the band. This size 6 ring weighs 4.4 grams.
