Victorian Carnelian 15k Gold Watch Key Fob Pendant

If you were a Victorian Gentleman in the mid to late 1800's, you likely owned a pocket watch. If you owned a very fine pocket watch, you might own a very fine watch chain to hang it on, and if you owned a very fine watch and a very fine chain, you might also want to own a very fine key to wind your watch. Here is just such a particularly elegant key!

I was delighted when I found this superb, very rare and unusual Victorian pocket watch key set with a round flat of rich red carnelian. This beautiful bauble is engraved with dancing swirls and spins freely in it’s mount (to make winding easier!). Handcrafted around 1850, this Victorian English piece is marked ’15c’ for 15 karat gold. This fob pendant measures 40 mm end to end and 16.7 mm across the stoned end, it weighs 4.9 grams.
